Family Voices By Harold Pinter

The Cannoli Mob brings Harold Pinter’s classic play to life. Pinter’s original play was written for the radio in 1980. It involved a series of interweaving monologues expressed by three voices. Director Vivian Tselios adapts Pinter’s play for the stage and brings back the memorable eccentric characters.

Family Voices delves into the themes of family dysfunction and communication breakdown. A young man leaves home to distance himself from his family. He corresponds with his mother through letters, but the letters never seem to reach their destination, causing a rift in the mother-son relationship. The boy tries to be independent and takes up residence with a group of odd characters. As much as he tries to feel at home, he realizes that he still longs for his family no matter where he goes, or who he meets.

The Cannoli Mob is a group of committed theatre-makers who have come together to stage a play by well-known playwright, Harold Pinter. Catch Family Voices by Harold Pinter presented by the The Cannoli Mob from October 2 to 6, 2013 at the University of Notre Dame Theatre Space.
