Tucked away at the southern end of Darling Harbour, just a short stroll away from Chinatown, The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a lush green oasis of calm in the bustling heart of Sydney.

When you step into the gardens you’ll feel as if you’ve travelled back in time to Ancient China. Crystal clear waterfalls spill intro trickling landscaped streams and cooling fountains spurt out from rocks, filling the whole gardens with the soothing sound of running water. As you stroll through you’ll spot moss covered statues of dragons and animals, beautiful lotus plants and climbing ivy clinging to trees. The Water Pavilion of Lotus Fragrance is a magical spot to rest awhile and soak up the tranquil atmosphere and the refreshing scent of Lotus.

Enjoy a reviving cup of Jasmine tea in the garden’s traditional Chinese teahouse, before exploring the Rock Forest, the Penjing and the Twin Pavilion. Spanning several acres, the gardens are an idyllic place to retreat to with a good book or simply to recharge your batteries, close to our boutique hotel in Chippendale, Sydney. Enjoy!
