Festival Of The Winds

Spring is bringing festival after festival to Sydney with its arrival this September, and the time to visit Sydney has never been better! With Father’s Day just around the corner and the school holidays coming up you can give yourself the perfect start to Spring by enjoying an unforgettable time in the city with these unmissable festivals.

For the whole of September the Sydney Fringe Festival will be celebrating art all over NSW. Get to Sydney and discover how the atmosphere transforms as the 8th Sydney Fringe brings over 300 productions to over 50 venues, celebrating local artists and inspiring others. There’s a long list of feature events lined up, and it’s a great chance to be entertained, inspired, as well as discover something new.

Festival of the Winds is Australia’s biggest kite-flying festival that takes place on Bondi Beach. Head to the Sydney coast on September 10 and see a stunning site of kites in the sky that are all shapes and sizes. Below on the beachfront there will be music, face painting, stalls, animals, jumping castles, and more! It’s the perfect family day out.

On September 23 the Surry Hills Festival will be drawing the crowds in with free family-friendly entertainment all day at the Shannon Reserve in Surry Hills. You can expect live music performances, kids’ activities, art trails, food stalls, market stalls, and a fantastic atmosphere. One of the biggest festivals every Spring!

Celebrate the cultural diversity of Sydney at the Cabramatta Moon Festival on September 24. This fun celebration of South East Asian culture will feature everything from K-Pop to Middle Eastern cuisine, with a huge street festival, lion dance parade, and a finale of fireworks. This festive always draws in a staggering crowd, and the atmosphere is incredible!
